Another president done!

While at camp over Memorial Day weekend I finally finished the next president for my quilt, Benjamin Harrison. I believe he was the 23rd president. I still have so many to go, but I did this whole block over the weekend, start to finish. So that gives me hope that by the pool this summer I may actually get some more accomplished. It probably took 4 hours though, but I was watching a Monk marathon so the time flew! We did end up going out on the boat (it was covered); it was pretty cold though, so we didnt end up doing any jet skiing. Maybe next time!

WIPS (Works in Progress)

OK- I have finished the purple quilt so these are a couple of the other projects I am working on. I think I will try to get the yellow brick road quilt (the top pic)done this month and then get back to work on some UFO's. I really have to concentrate on my redwork President's quilt too. For some reason I just can't get excited about it enough to get it going. I finally finished Grover Cleveland but there are so many presidents still to go! Maybe I will work on some while sitting around the pool. Now I just need to get through the next 4 weeks and then it's smooth sailing, right into summer vacation-can't wait!

Purple Quilt Done!

So here is a picture of the Purple Suduko Quilt. It is finally done. I machine quilted it-did a much better job this time, although my designs were not great. But I am getting better and I feel it is good enough to give to someone. This was made as a special birthday gift so hopefully she doesnt read this blog before it gets to her. I think this one came out pretty well. I have a better idea now how to do the machine quilting, someone said to try the press and seal paper and make the pattern and stitch right on that and then it tears away easily. I tried it on a sample block the other day and it appeared to work. So next machine quilted quilt, I will try that.
